Welcome to the Autumn 2021 newsletter for the Human Learning Systems community.

This newsletter brings you the latest news about Human Learning Systems (HLS). We are sending it to you because you attended an event about HLS, downloaded a publication or signed up to join the HLS community. HLS brings hope to everyone tired of the way that targets and markets create dehumanising, fragmented and wasteful public service, divorced from the reality of the lives of both the people being supported and the people who support them.

Taking an HLS approach in national Government: The Innovation Centre of the Finnish National Education Agency moved from scaling educational ‘good practice’ to building local capacity for experimentation, learning and improvement. Are you already inspired and looking for opportunities to learn with other HLS pioneers?

Collaborate, funded by the Tudor Trust, are building a Human Learning Systems Community of Practice, made up of a network of learning communities. Join one of Collaborate’s HLS practical learning communities or get support to start one yourself.

Four communities are launching this Autumn:

Collaborate and four Local Authorities are convening a community for Local Authorities who are experimenting with HLS approaches, developing collaborative, people and community-centred ways of working.
Collaborate and a local government worker are also convening a community for people who want to create curiosity about HLS. Members of the group will have an opportunity to share, discuss challenges, and work together to get people curious about Human Learning Systems.
Telescope are convening a community for changemakers tackling complex social challenges from different perspectives - frontline service delivery, public service policy or lived experience - seeking to bring about empathetic change within organisations and systems.
CPI is building an international HLS Community of Practice, for governments around the world to connect, experiment and learn from each other. The CoP will launch on 2nd December.
